JANUARY IS STEWARDSHIP MONTH
This January marks our Stewardship Month—a special opportunity to reflect on God’s abundant blessings and our calling to manage them faithfully. Stewardship is more than just finances—it’s about honoring God with our time, talents, and tithes. As Proverbs 3:9 reminds us: “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.”
Throughout this month and going forward, we invite you to seek practical ways to serve, share, and support. Whether it’s dedicating your skills to a ministry, giving financially, or volunteering, each act of generosity shows our gratitude and trust in God. Join us in embracing this season of commitment, and let’s offer the best of what we have to the Lord, allowing Him to multiply our efforts for His kingdom.
We will end our focus on Stewardship with a special Stewardship Sunday worship service on Sunday, January 26th @ 10am.
THE YEAR OF THE FAMILY PHOTO SUBMISSION
As part of “The Year of the Family,” we’re inviting you to capture the essence of your loved ones! Take a family photo that reflects the love and unity in your home and help us showcase Tanner’s amazing families on our church website.
📸 What to Do: Take a family picture on a normal time together or during any special celebration.
Take several and send us two or three of the best shots.

WOMEN'S DAY 2025 KICKOFF PLANNING MEETING
Join us on Saturday, January 18th at 9am in the Fellowship Hall at Tanner for our Women’s Day 2025 Kickoff Planning Meeting!
This will be an exciting gathering to launch our preparations for Women’s Day Weekend, coming up on May 24th–25th. A light breakfast will be served so we can start the morning fueled and focused.
Our amazing 2025 Women’s Day Team — Alletta Callaway, Yvonne Dunn, and Melanie Richardson — will guide us in brainstorming and laying out the plans for this special weekend. Come ready to share your ideas and be part of a dynamic discussion on how we can make this year’s Women’s Day inspiring, meaningful, and memorable.
REGISTRATION REQUIRED - Register on Sunday after worship service.
We need your voice and creativity! Whether you’ve been involved for years or you’re new to the team, your unique perspective is welcome and appreciated. Let’s come together, encourage one another, and set the tone for an uplifting celebration in 2025. We can’t wait to see you there!
Welcome to Tanner’s Membership Orientation Classes!
Joining the Historic Tanner Chapel A.M.E. Church family is an exciting journey of faith, fellowship, and growth. Tanner’s Membership Orientation Series is designed to provide new members with an understanding of what it means to be a member of our church and the African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Each series consists of four (4) informative classes. Attendance at all four (4) classes in the first available series after joining is required for new members to qualify for Full Church Membership. Upon successful completion, members are formally “read” into Full Church Membership during a special service.
Classes meet in the Sanctuary from 8:30am to 9:30am, with a slightly adjusted time of 8:45am on the 1st Sunday. Every new member will receive a free personal copy of the Tanner Membership Handbook as part of this journey.
We look forward to walking this path of faith with you and welcoming you fully into our Tanner family!
NEW MEMBERS Coffee & Tea Hour with the Pastor
We are excited to invite all new members of Tanner Chapel to a special Coffee & Tea Hour with the Pastor on Sunday, March 30th at 8:30am in the Fellowship Hall.
This gathering is a wonderful opportunity for new members to meet and connect with their assigned Care Leaders, as well as other members of our church family. Together, we’ll share in fellowship, build community, and deepen our sense of belonging.
Join us for a warm and welcoming morning of connection and conversation. We can’t wait to see you there!
